The Electrical Power and Electronic Equipment Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University was established in 1995 and renamed as Xi'an Highvolt high voltage electrical equipment Institute Co., Ltd. in 2019.

The Institute is the co-construction unit of Shaanxi High Voltage and High current Testing Technology and Equipment Engineering Laboratory of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and mainly engaged in the research and development of key technologies and equipment of high voltage and high current test system, as well as the key technology and epoxy insulation powder encapsulation equipment. The main innovation is to develop a series of high voltage and high current test equipment for overvoltage effect and protection in power, electronics and communication, aerospace and other fields, as well as insulation coating equipment for electronic components and power transmission bus. The research results have won two second prizes of national science and technology progress and five provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards.
